Since 1994 BigCityVelo has been a developmental cycling squad. The sole purpose is to provide the athlete a place to develop the skills necessary to succeed at cycling's highest level. This is achieved through coaching, psychological development, as well as providing all the equipment necessary to train and compete.

The end result is to guide the cyclist to his or her goals and to prepare them for their best performance.

2007 will be the first year that a name and logo other than BigCityVelo will be on the uniform. Leader Bike USA will become the title sponsor and the squad will be named LeaderBike/BigCity.

This year will also bring another change. The creation of the BigCity Cycling Foundation. The foundation will allow LeaderBike/BigCity to bring more cyclists on to its squad. The most important part of the foundation is that through grants and scholarships we will also work to meet the needs of other cyclists.
